When you think of Simba you likely think of a refined, multi-layered, foam and spring hybrid, balanced firmness mattress. If that's not what you think, then the lion protagonist from the classic Lion king🦁 movie likely came to mind instead. Either way, we can attest to the popularity of the Simba mattress brand. With the original Simba Hybrid reaching the acclaims of having the most 5-star ratings for a mattress in the world,🌍 the Simba Hybrid Pro has quite high standards to meet like the younger brother whose very talented older brother is an astronaut who performs brain surgery on the moon🌙, whilst being the most decorated athlete. Basically the Simba Hybrid Pro has a lot of pressure on it to perform like its mattress brother, the Simba Hybrid mattress. Now Simba has even added the Simba Hybrid Luxe Yet it has received multiple great reviews and many have testified to it elevating their level of sleep. Simba Hybrid Pro Composition
The Simba Hybrid Pro is made up of seven layers which work in unison, addressing different sleeping criteria with comfort being prioritised in the upper levels of the layering system. All of the layering amounts to 28cm of thickness.
Top level cover
This surface layer of the mattress is the soft cover which has been enhanced to be even softer than the Simba Hybrid. However this cover cannot be removed and is not washable either.
The wool layer
In the conventional hybrid mattress layering system this is considered to be the ‘pillow top’ of the mattress. The wool layer brings a high level of breathability to the mattress since the fibres of natural wool are exceptional at regulating temperatures. The wool also brings a plushness that complements the layers below well. This layer is only half a centimetre thick, but it's breathability properties are still effective, wicking the moisture that builds up on and around your body, away. The wool used in this layer is not imported from abroad, 🚢but rather is collected from national farms who guarantee that the sheep 🐑that they shear for the material are well looked after and are protected from parasites by having their fleece shorn off. This can give you peace of mind that animal endangerement is not a moral quandary for you to overcome when thinking about buying the Simba Hybrid Pro, but rather the qualities that wool has to offer.
Simbatex foam comfort layer
An essential part of the Simba Hybrid which reaped a lot of praise was its Simbatex foam layer. 👏The Simba Pro has implemented the wisdom of not changing a winning formula and have decided to keep it in its variation. This comfort layer contains graphite-infused foam and the mineral graphite does a lot for the cooling of the mattress. The foam used is open-cell which contributes to the level of firmness of the mattress since the material has been imbued with more sponginess due to its construction. This has a 2.5cm thickness. Sticking to the hybrid mattress model, the Simbatex foam layer is the comfort layer, so it is specially designed to bring balance to how the mattress holds up your weight.
Aerocoil Pocket Spring layers
These layers make up the 4th and 5th levels of the Simba Hybrid Pro. The Aerocoil Spring layer is a bedding of individually sheathed coils. As pocket-springs ensure a high-level of adaptability, the Aerocoil springs will behave with free agency to bring comfort to you whilst you sleep😴. The Aerocoils were a well-liked feature in the original Simba Hybrid. Simba decided that not only was it worth using it in their newer model, but to double it up with an additional layer to reinforce the first, multiplying its capabilities. As coils do well with the absorption of energy, the idea of duplicating the first coil layer means the support offered is even greater than one single level. The combined coil-count of the mattress reaches around the figure of 5000, about double that of the original Simba Hybrid. This number of coils is attainable without heavily adapting the size of the mattress because the pocket springs used are mini-coils. That's a lot of coils that are each designed to optimise your sleep.
Simba-Pure foam
This layer is the core of the Simba Hybrid Pro and is 5cm in height. As it is the thickest layer of the mattress, it's effect is the most felt and its purpose is that of support. The Edge lift technology wich is incorporated into the layer, folds around and produces a wall🧱 around the Aerocoil spring layer. This grants horizontal support to the coils, keeping them compact, dense and effective. The foam used in this layer is reflex foam, which is a variation of polyurethane.
The Base support
This is the largest section of the Simba Hybrid Pro, amounting to 16cm of thickness. This layer is at the very bottom of the medium firm mattress and is the foundation of the entire structure. It is made from cold foam 🥶 which is another subset of polyurethane foam and is of a high-density. As it is of a high-density the base brings about a great amount of pressure-relief as the matrress is more compact therefore more aligned with your body's shape🧘♀️. As well as that, the cold foam is constructed with seven contouring zones cut into it. This facilitates exceptional airflow, since the cut zones are open for air to be circulated. This means there is a constant undercurrent of heat passing at the base of the mattress. This keeps temperature levels quite low and ensure you are not disturbed by a ridiculous heat in the mattress. 🥵

Motion Isolation
Would you be disturbed by a sleeping partner's movement?
Having Aerocoil springs with individual liberty of movement 🤸♀️as opposed to innerspring coil networks allows prevents much motion transfer from occuring. This is essentially halved because there are two layers of the pocket springs. However, even though, for a hybrid which incorporates springs, it does quite well. Therefore the motion isolation isn't as great as a purely memory foam mattress.
Thermal regulation
Does it get too hot?
The Simbatex foam layer does a lot for the thermal regulation of the Simba Hybrid Pro. The graphite infusion into the foam conducts the heat, so that it is transferred out of the mattress. Also the foam has an open-cell structure which regulates the temperature 🌞because the foam does not contain enclosed walls which traps heat and mean temperatures rise quite high☝ allowing you to experience that sought after Simba sleep

Firmness
How supportive is the mattress? Is it very hard? Are the sinkage depth levels extreme?
The Simba Hybrid Pro mattress has been described to be of a medium firmness. More accurately though it edges more onto the centre right side of the firmness scale, occupying a place at the higher end. This is especially the case for light-weight sleepers who likely will not benefit too much from the complexity 👨🎓of the lower layers, since they won't be pressing far enough into the mattress. However for those who are average sleepers or above, the medium firm mattress has proven to offer enough plushness to bring about comfort for the sleeper.😄 The firmness of the mattress mainly is attributable to Both of the Aerocoil pocket spring layers. Combined they reach a thickness of about 4cm, but this height is due to the compression of the polyester material that sheath the coils. This increases the density of the layer, which has an impact on the firmness of the mattress. Pressure relief
Does it support where it matters and alleviate pressure?
Again the Aerocoil spring layer is the main decider for how the mattress performs in this area. Having pocket-spring coils does enough for pressure relief. However since the springs are mini-coils they are able to achieve even a greater amount of pressure-relief. The Simba Hybrid Pro does excellently with the alleviating pressure in key areas due to the seven cut contour zones in the base. Each of these zones act like a open valve for a pressurised pipe. 💣They allow for a balanced level of comfort across your body by giving further yield in those areas.
Responsiveness and adaptability
Is it viscoelastic? Will it conform to your body? Is it quick to respond?
The adaptability of the Simba Hybrid lies within the Simba-Pure foam layer. The reflex foam that is used for the Simba-Pure uses air-filled bubbles to allow fluid compression through air displacement. This enables it to adjust to your distribution of weight. However the firmness of the Simba Pro mattress prevents it from comparing to the viscoleastic levels of conformity that you'll find in most memory foam mattresses.
Spinal alignment promotion
Will it support your back and neck?
The Simba Hybrid Pro is ideal for back and stomach sleepers and for those that prefer that sleeping position, the best mattress for them could well be the Simba Pro mattress due to the firmness of the mattress. Due to the firmness, the body is well aligned and uneven sinkage does not occur which would disrupt the spines neutral alignment. The Simba Hybrid Pro's orthopaedic qualities stem from the reflex foam of the Simba-pure layer which alleviates tension along the back and keeps the spine in check, which is especially beneficial for the stomach sleeper. It should also be noted that the best pillow for the spine is one that allows your neck to align with the backs spinal column. That ‘best pillow’ could be one in Simba's category.
Edge support
Is it sturdy around the edges? Does the mattress collapse on the sides?
Again, it is the Simba pure layer that directly impacts this characteristic of the Pro. The Simba pure foam is manufactured with what Simba calls Edge lift technology. It is what was used in the original Simba Hybrid, which heavily boosted its edge support and has the same effect in the pro. The edge to edge support reinforces each inch📏 of the mattress, so on the sides, mattress collapse is prevented. This makes it great for those who don't limit themselves to the central part of the mattress and sleeping couples👩❤️👨. After all, the ideal home requires the ideal mattress. The fact that the support is spread entirely across the surface means that your weight is distributed evenly across the mattress, so pressure is mitigated.
Off-gassing
Does it produce gas? Does it have an unpleasant smell?
Simba have actively worked on reducing the off-gassing that occurs from opening a vacuum-sealed bed-in-a-box mattress. The Simba Hybrid Pro is made without CFCs or chlorofluorocarbons which are known as greenhouse gases. These are gases that penetrate earth's protective layer, the ozone, so use of them within mattresses is problematic. This is why Simba has chosen to stay away. 🏃♂️Aside from all of this, though, as the Pro is still packaged in the way that it is, off-gassing still occurs, but at a low-level.
Eco-Cleanness and Hypoallergenic levels
Does it have pollutants? Will it resist allergens
The Pro is made with CertiPUR verified foam . This means it has been approved 👍by a certification programme which standardizes the eco-pureness of polyurethane foam used in mattresses. There isn't much of a greater authority to gain approval from on such a subject. It's certification is warranted since the Simba Hybrid Pro is produced without the inclusion of mercury, lead, cadmium and other adverse metals. 🔩The CertiPUR stamp of approval also ensures that the Pro is free from phthalates which are chemicals used to enhance the durability of certain materials which is known to harm animals,🦊 so likely will have a negative effect on humans. As for the hypoallergenic aspect of the mattress, the natural British wool used in the upper layer of the pro is resistant to bacteria, so microbial 🦠dangers of this kind are kept away by the wool.
Breathability

The breathability in Simba mattresses are almost unmatched. They do very well in this area and the Pro is no exception. The Aerocoil springs in the 4th and 5th layers of the mattress are enwrapped in polyester which facilitates the breathability of the layers due to the moisture-wicking quality of polyester. The Simba Hybrid Pro actually performances 30 times better ��than the mattresses that lead the viscoelastic foam category of mattresses, in terms of breathability. Durability
Is it resilient? Will it last for a long time?
