As a hybrid it is packed with layered ergonomics and practicality which is designed to improve sleep for those who use it. The hybrid layering system is very innovative and quite special, with springs and foam coming together in a way that has garnered a lot of popularity. The Otty Original Hybrid composition
The Hybrid is developed with a lot of engineered rationale behind it. Mattress cover
The cover is a thick fabric which is knitted together and the result is an incredibly soft cover. An added bonus is that unlike a lot of huge named mattress brands, the cover is removable and washable.🧺 You'd think that this is a standard expectation, but there are plenty of mattresses that can't tick this box,✅ so consider its washability to be a massive positive point.
Thermal-regulated memory foam layer
This second layer is a propietary memory foam technology. It is innovatively designed to solve the age-long issue that memory foam mattresses tend to have, which is that of temperature moderation. It's official name is the Otty Hybrid Cool blue 💎gel memory foam. This layer is produced with a cooling gel which effectively manifests the interesting science of Phase-changing material or PCM properties which occurs through the physical state of the gel changing in order to diminish the heat.🥵 To learn more about cooling gels used in third generation memory foams and the effect they have, you can check out the link here. This layer makes up 3cm of the total mattress height, so it is by no means the largest section of the Otty Original Hybrid, but it's effects are certainly felt.
Reflex foam layer
This layer is 3cm thick too. It sits below the memory foam layer, complementing it by adding stability. ⚓The reflex foam is of a high density which make the Otty Hybrid excellent an orthopaedic mattress in terms of the support that it provides. Pocket sprung coils layer
Below the reflex foam layer sits pocket sprung coils which reach up to a number of 2,000. The coils are packed into a section of the Otty Original Hybrid which makes up well more than 50% of the overall mattress's thickness. Airflow side-support
This layer is not the typical level in a hybrid. In fact they are panels that frames the mattress. They fit around the edges and surround 🚧some of the Otty Original Hybrid as enclosing walls.
Base layer
At the bottom of the hybrid layering system is the base which is 5cm thick and provides a sturdy foundation for the rest of the mattress. The high-density foam of the base layer ensures that the mattress has a high level of durability and will be able to maintain its quality for a long time.⏳ It is essential that the support foam base is long-lasting because if its properties diminish, the level of support it can offer to the layers above will decrease too and the overall performance of the mattress will falter as a result.

Motion Isolation
Would you be disturbed by a sleeping partners movement?
The motion isolation in the Otty Hybrid Original is quite decent because the pocket sprung coils, in their sheathed wrappings, move independently of one another, meaning each coil doesn't respond totally to the behaviour to coils on the other side of the mattress. However spring layers, despite being mitigated by the foam layers in the hybrid mattress, do bring a bit of motion transfer even though pocket sprung coils significantly outshine🌟 Open coil layers in this department, which through their coiled links, transfer even the slightest movement. A memory foam mattress would do better in this regard such as the Nectar. As a memory foam mattress with PU foam layers, the Nectar absorbs motion better.
Thermal regulation
Does it get too hot?
The high level of thermal regulation in the Otty Original Hybrid is owed much to the Airflow side-support. Firmness

Having up to 2,000 pocket-sprung coils with autonomous compression in response to your body, sitting beneath you within the mattress structure does much for pressure-relief of the Otty Hybrid. This provides great relief😌 in the hips and shoulders regions which are areas which suffer💀 when there is no particular alleviation of tension in those areas.
Responsiveness and adaptability
Is it viscolelastic? Will it conform to your body? Is it quick to respond?
The responsiveness and adaptability of the Otty Original Hybrid is where this mattress excels. The memory foam layer's viscoelastic qualities means that the layer has semi-fluid 💦and semi-elastic properties that gives the mattress an abundance of comformity for those who would press into the surface. The Otty Original Hybrid's adaptability is optimised by the reflex foam layer since the reflex foam implements foam bubble compression which involves air being displaced within bubbles. This allows for the mattress to adapt🦎 very closely to the size and sleeping position of the person on the bed, making it a very comfortable mattress in this regard.
Spinal alignment promotion
Will it support your back and neck?
There are no particular aspects of the Otty Original Hybrid that focuses on promoting spinal alignment, but the high-density reflex provides enough support to prevent excessive slack beneath the neck and back. This helps to stop spinal misalignment through too much plushness. However the firmness of the reflex foam resists the natural curvature required for spinal alignment, so there is room for improvement in this aspect.
Edge support
Is it sturdy around the edges? Does the mattress collapse on the sides?
What you can count on the Otty Original Hybrid having is a excellent 👑 edge support. The Airflow support panels that frame some layers of the mattress extends the firmness of the mattress overall to the outer edges of each layer reinforcing the sides of the springs and the foam materials. | The mattress arrived within seven days. It has no side-handles, so it is awkward to move and transport. Opening and setting it up is easy. The off-gassing smell is strong for 2 days, however it lingers after a week. The Otty Original Hybrid is supportive and is a comfortable mattres. Does it have pollutants? Will it resist allergens?
The Otty Original Hybrid is CertiPUR certified. CertiPUR is esentially the governing body 👨⚖️for regulation standards of polyuretane foam mattresses. They ensure the polyurethane foam within an assessed mattress does not contain any toxic substances or metals such as mercury, lead or cadmium. As well as that the Otty is also approved by EuroPUR which has a similar mission as CertiPUR, but has a presence across Europe🌍 and is an association for open discussion 👂and engagement for those within the industry of PU foam block manufacturing. However there are no particular hypoallergenic properties of the Otty Original to combat allergens.
Breathability
Will sweat be wicked away?
The memory foam layer of the mattress contains tiny pinholes which allow for the escape of air and moisture. ��However the mattress materials aren't designed particularly with breathability in mind, 🧠so other than the pinholes not much else helps with sweating you may experience.
Durability
Is it resilient? Will it last for a long time?
The high-density reflex foam contributes much to the durability of the mattress due to the resilience💪 of the material as a result of being produced as a compact structure.
